News for everyone

Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to an inclusive and usable Top Prime Media experience.
Effective: 4 August 2026 · Last reviewed: 4 August 2026

This document is designed as a clear operational policy. It should be reviewed periodically against changes in Kenyan law and the company’s actual practices.

Independent news should be usable by everyone

TPM is working toward an experience aligned with recognised WCAG principles: perceivable, operable, understandable and robust. Accessibility is an ongoing product and editorial practice, not a one-time certificate.

1. What we support

  • Keyboard navigation and visible focus for core journeys.
  • Semantic headings, landmarks, labels and descriptive link text.
  • Readable contrast, scalable text and layouts that reflow on small screens.
  • Alternative text for meaningful editorial imagery where available.
  • Reduced-motion support for users who request it.
  • Captions, transcripts or summaries for key owned audio-visual content as production permits.

2. Known limitations

Legacy archive content, third-party live players, advertisements, scanned documents and breaking-news video may not yet meet every target. A third-party station controls the accessibility of its embedded player. We prioritise fixes by user impact, frequency and feasibility.

3. Assistive technology

The service is intended to work with current versions of major browsers, screen readers and operating-system accessibility settings. Updating the browser and assistive technology usually provides the best results. We avoid requiring a single input method for core reading journeys.

4. Live and breaking coverage

Real-time publishing can make immediate captioning or complete text alternatives difficult. We aim to add context, summaries, corrected transcripts or captions as soon as editorial and technical resources allow, especially for important public-interest material.

5. Request an alternative format

If content is inaccessible, email accessibility@topprimemedia.co.ke with the page URL, the barrier, your device or assistive technology if you wish to share it, and the format that would help. We will seek a reasonable alternative.

6. Feedback and response

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within two business days and prioritise blockers to essential news, account and contact functions. We may contact you for testing details, but you are not required to disclose a disability.
